Maro Theodorou was born in Kalambaka in 1982. She lives and works in Kalambaka, Greece. Since 2003 she runs her own studio and art gallery where she exhibits her work as well as that of other artists.

PUBLICATIONS:

2014 Recycle Bin sculpture included in Lark Crafts publication «500 Figures in Clay, Volume 2″ (500 best works in clay worldwide), published in February 2014 by the American Sterling Publishing Co.

 

DISTINCTIONS-AWARDS

2013 She received a distinction in the Lark Crafts competition «500 Figures in Clay» with her work Recycle Bin.

 

2001 She received 2 awards from the Melina Merkouri Foundation for aesthetic and creative achievement.

She is a member of the Greek Chamber of Fine Arts.

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

2016- 2018 Special Education Professor in art in public secondary schools

2013 – 2015 Professor freehand drawing and art history in public vocational woodwork school Kalambaka (unique in Greece).

2009 – 2014 Teacher of drawing, painting and ceramics, Kastraki Art Studio, Kalambaka, Greece

2009 – 2014 Active member of the Kalambaka theater group Epi Stagon, where she works as a set designer and co-organizer of artistic events

2014 Professor of Drawing in public elementary schools within the Greek National Education System, Trikala, Greece

2013 Fund-raising art exhibition for Ark of the World, (non-profit association in support of disadvantaged children).

2013 Curator for opening of permanent exhibition, Folklore Museum of Malakasi, Metsovo

2013 Set Design and catalogue design for the theatre play Senzas by Pantelis Horn, Epi Stagon theater group

2013 Curator for the Pavlos Balogiannis exhibition, Portrayal of Meteora, Kalambaka
